Welcome to my journey

So I did it again. Let my weight creep up on me.

At one time I got to around 245 lbs. (I’m 5’10”). I worked hard and got down to 180. That took a year but it really seemed easy. I was so proud of what I did. It was really the first time I had to lose weight, I’ve always been a little skinny.

Then I guess I got over confident and started back to my old habits. Went back up to around 210. Again it didn’t seem too hard and I got down to 165 this time. People said I was too thin.

I was feeling good, but…

So here we go again. Sitting at 209. Just haven’t been able to get motivated enough. Don’t know why either. Maybe just frustrated that I’m able to get it off but not keep it off.

But being this heavy I feel lethargic, no energy. I have heartburn often which is something I never get when I’m at a better weight. Just generally don’t feel good. Plus I was comfortable in a size 34 pant and just had to go buy some 38s. Not good.

My plan here is to regularly post my weight at least weekly, no matter if it’s good or not. I’ll also post a few times a week what I’ve done right and what I’ve done wrong.

No fad diets either. No Keto, Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, cabbage soup, etc. Calories in vs. calories out with an emphasis on balancing carbs, protein, and fats.

I’m using MyFitnessPal (the free version). For those not familiar with it. It’s a great way to track calories and nutrition. The service uses a large database of foods, both from the USDA and from user submitted. All free with some ads of course. There is a paid version which gets you a little more, but I’m fine with the free one.

I’ll be sharing tips and recipes as well, so come on, join me, or just sit back and watch. It’s gonna be a ride…
